2026 Arena show information

Accessibility

Sunday for Sammy's main show is hosted at Utilita Arena Newcastle, which offers a wide range of accessibility facilities including dedicated accessible seating areas, disabled parking, step-free and lift access, accessible entrances, hearing loop systems, accessible toilets and concession stands, alongside dedicated accessibility support and booking services. Companion tickets can also be arranged where required.

Inclusivity

Inclusivity for Sunday for Sammy extends beyond physical accessibility. Our shows bring together performers and audiences of all ages and backgrounds, creating opportunities for young people to gain experience both on stage and behind the scenes.  This extends to our audience with multi generations of families attending, encouraging family time spent together. By championing emerging North East talent alongside established performers, our shows help ensure opportunities remain accessible to the next generation of creative professionals.

The event celebrates talent across generations, providing a platform for both emerging performers and some of the region's most established artists, while welcoming audiences of all ages to share in a unique celebration of North East culture.

Sustainability

Sunday for Sammy aims to minimise the environmental impact of its events while maximising social and community benefit. Working with our event partners, including Utilita Arena Newcastle, we encourage audiences to use public transport and shared travel options when attending the event.

Where possible, communications, ticketing and event information are delivered digitally, reducing the need for printed materials and helping to minimise waste. The charity also works with local suppliers, partners and creative professionals from across the North East, supporting the regional economy while reducing travel requirements.

As a largely volunteer-led charity, Sunday for Sammy seeks to use resources responsibly and efficiently. We continually review our event operations and look for opportunities to improve environmental performance while maintaining an outstanding experience for audiences, performers and volunteers

Regenerative Tourism & Community Impact

Sunday for Sammy is more than a one-day entertainment event. The event celebrates North East culture, talent and creativity while attracting audiences to Newcastle and supporting the city's visitor economy, welcoming an audience of approximately 12,000 people.

Funds raised are reinvested into the development of emerging performers and creative professionals from across the region, helping to create opportunities that might not otherwise be available. This investment supports a sustainable talent pipeline and helps retain creative skills within the North East.

By bringing together established performers, young talent, audiences, sponsors and community partners, Sunday for Sammy contributes to the long-term cultural vibrancy of the region and strengthens its reputation as a place where creative talent can thrive.

Through the celebration of regional talent and continued investment in future generations of performers, the event delivers benefits that extend beyond the event itself, creating lasting cultural, social and economic value for the North East.

Supporting Young People and North East Talent

At the heart of Sunday for Sammy is a commitment to nurturing the next generation of North East talent. Through the opportunities created by the charity and its fundraising activities, young performers and creative professionals are supported to develop their skills, gain valuable experience and pursue careers within the arts and entertainment industries.

The event brings together emerging talent and established performers, creating opportunities for learning, inspiration and professional development. Young people also contribute behind the scenes, helping to deliver an event that showcases the very best of the North East's creative community.

This investment in people is central to Sunday for Sammy's mission and helps ensure the region continues to be a place where creative talent can flourish for generations to come.
